Forest Hill Resort Hosts Nature Photo Walk

Chandigarh : Celebrating the beauty of the natural world on the occasion of World Tourism Day and Big Butterfly Month, Forest Hill Resort (FHR) hosted a special Nature Photo Walk that brought together more than 60 nature enthusiasts and photography lovers. The event offered participants an opportunity to explore the resort’s diverse natural landscape while photographing its trees, plants, birds, butterflies and other elements of the surrounding ecosystem.
Speaking about the initiative, Devinder Sandhu, Founder, Forest Hill Resort, said, “Nature is an integral part of our lives, and taking the time to observe and understand it makes us appreciate our surroundings even more. Through the Nature Photo Walk, we wanted to encourage people to explore Forest Hill closely and experience its rich natural environment. The event brought together nature, tourism and photography in a meaningful way, and we were delighted by the enthusiasm shown by the participants as they captured the beauty around them through their cameras.”
The Nature Photo Walk was coordinated by an expert panel comprising Dr. Arun Bansal, Dr. Abhijeet, Gurpartap Singh, Parveen Jaggi, Deepak Arora, Dinesh Verma and Parveen Nain.
Explaining the format of the activity, Dr. Arun Bansal said, “The Nature Photo Walk was divided into two groups — a Trekking Group and a Photography Group. While the trekking participants explored the trails, terrain and natural landscapes of the Shivalik foothills, the photography group focused on documenting the area’s biodiversity, including butterflies, birds, insects and other fauna. Bringing exploration and photography together created an engaging experience while also encouraging awareness about conservation and responsible ecotourism.”
The event was designed to encourage participants to spend time in nature, observe the environment around them and document its many facets through photography. Accompanied by experts, the participants explored the natural areas surrounding the resort and photographed a variety of trees, plants, butterflies, birds and other elements of the landscape.
According to Sandhu, Forest Hill Resort has consistently worked towards promoting nature-based tourism, with initiatives such as these creating opportunities for visitors to experience the environment at close quarters. Such activities also help highlight the region’s natural richness and encourage a greater appreciation of its flora and fauna.
The participants spent approximately three and a half hours exploring the natural surroundings before returning to the resort’s plush Club House. The experience concluded with a relaxed get-together featuring refreshments and live music.
