DeVANS Launches Premium Indian Craft Gin ‘Gingalalahu’

Share

Chandigarh, DeVANS Modern Breweries, the company behind award-winning GianChand Single Malt Whisky, has entered the premium gin category with the launch of Gingalalahu, an Indian craft dry gin handcrafted with nine exotic botanicals and distilled in small-batch pot stills.

Bottled at 42.8% ABV, Gingalalahu is produced in batches of just 200 litres, with its flavour profile derived entirely from carefully selected botanicals and spices. The gin contains no artificial flavourings or added sweeteners, staying true to the character of a classic dry gin.

According to Prem Dewan, Chairman and Managing Director, DeVANS Modern Breweries Ltd, the launch represents an important step for the company as it expands into the premium craft gin segment. He noted that consumers are increasingly looking for spirits that combine authenticity, quality and craftsmanship.

The gin has also received appreciation from internationally recognised gin expert and author Geraldine Coates, who described it as a classic-style gin with a balanced combination of juniper, citrus and spice, along with a smooth mouthfeel and clean finish.

International Recognition Before Commercial Launch

Gingalalahu has already earned recognition at several international spirits competitions, including:

* Gold Medal – Global Gin Masters 2025, Super Premium Category

* Silver Medal – San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2026

* Silver Medal – International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC), UK 2026

* Silver Medal – World Gin Awards, UK 2026

These accolades underline DeVANS’ focus on developing Indian spirits with international quality benchmarks and contemporary craft credentials.

Inspired by the philosophy of “Nature’s Symphony in a Bottle,” Gingalalahu aims to offer a balanced and refreshing drinking experience while showcasing the depth and complexity achieved through botanical selection and small-batch distillation.

It’s currently available in Chandigarh, Jammu, Gurgaon and Goa. The gin is expected to enter retail markets in Delhi and Mumbai in the coming weeks.
