A defining moment for journalism education. Faye D’Souza joins AAFT as Industry Dean of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
The move signals a sharper focus on credibility, real-world skills, and digital-first storytelling.
Over the years, she has shaped influential newsrooms, including ET Now and CNBC-TV18. Her work continues to resonate in an industry navigating trust, speed, and digital disruption.
Her contributions have earned wide recognition. She is a recipient of the RedInk Award for Journalism and the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism. She has also featured in Forbes India’s Self-Made Women list and Fortune India’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business.
At AAFT, her role goes beyond title. She brings newsroom experience directly into classrooms. She will lead masterclasses, mentor students, and design industry-relevant curricula. More importantly, she will bridge the growing gap between academic learning and newsroom realities—at a time when employers increasingly seek practical skills.
Having Faye D’Souza lead our journalism school gives students direct access to one of India’s most credible media voices,” said Akshay Marwah. He emphasized the need for critical thinking, credibility, and courage in modern journalism.
