Eyewear brand marked its 100th store milestone as it strengthened its focus on premium fashion, luxury and lifestyle.
Mumbai, October 12, 2026: GKB, the premium eyewear retailer formerly known as GKB Opticals, unveiled a refreshed brand identity and appointed actor Sanya Malhotra as its brand ambassador, marking a new chapter in its six-decade journey. The rebranding coincided with the launch of its 100th store in Mumbai and reflected the company’s ambition to expand beyond traditional optical retail into a more fashion- and lifestyle-oriented eyewear destination.
Malhotra, known for her distinctive personal style and contemporary approach to fashion, was chosen to represent the brand as it entered this next phase of its evolution.
Commenting on the association, actor Sanya Malhotra said, “I’m excited to be part of this new chapter as GKB moves into a more fashion and lifestyle-led future. The right frames, be it glasses or sunnies, can change the way you feel, the way you present yourself and the way you express your personality. GKB offers everything I look for in eyewear — great design, individuality and a strong sense of style, backed by expertise.”
Explaining the thinking behind the rebranding, Priyanka Gupta, Director, GKB, said, “The transition from GKB Opticals to GKB feels very organic as it reflects our philosophy and vision for the future of eyewear. Even though our heritage remains integral to the brand, we are now concentrating on developing our products further in terms of fashion, premium, luxury and lifestyle.”
The opening of GKB’s 100th store marked another significant milestone for the legacy brand. Spanning approximately 1,000 sq. ft. in Mumbai, the new outlet represented its continued focus on combining heritage with contemporary design, innovation and an elevated retail experience.
Beyond its retail footprint, GKB had developed specialised formats and services designed to enhance the customer journey. These included Vision Lounges in cities such as Mumbai and Bengaluru, offering private consultations for luxury eyewear customers, and Lens Experience Zones where customers could explore lens coatings, polarisation and light-filtering technologies. The brand also operated dedicated paediatric myopia clinics focused on children’s vision management.
Its service portfolio extended to at-home eye testing and style consultations conducted by certified optometrists using specialised diagnostic equipment. Digital innovations, including 3D virtual try-on tools and in-store digital lens mapping, further supported frame selection, lens positioning and fitting. Select outlets also featured integrated audiology clinics staffed by certified audiologists, extending the brand’s services to hearing care.
GKB’s portfolio included international eyewear labels such as MYKITA, Masunaga, Bvlgari, Chopard, TAG Heuer and Ray-Ban Meta, among others. Its combination of premium global brands, specialised optical services and technology-led retail solutions supported its ambition to create a differentiated destination for eyewear, vision care and personal style.
With its refreshed identity, celebrity association and 100-store milestone, GKB strengthened its proposition as a premium eyewear destination that brought together fashion, luxury, innovation and vision-care expertise while building on its established legacy.
