Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur Partners with Jaipur Rugs Foundation to Empower Women Weavers

Luxury hospitality and cultural heritage come together at Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur as the hotel announces a long-term partnership with the Jaipur Rugs Foundation. The initiative focuses on empowering women weavers across Rajasthan while bringing authentic craft experiences into the luxury travel space. Through this collaboration, the hotel aims to celebrate traditional craftsmanship, support local communities, and offer guests meaningful cultural engagement.

The partnership reflects a growing shift toward conscious luxury. Increasingly, travellers seek experiences that connect them with local culture and communities. By working closely with the foundation, the hotel will spotlight the stories, identities, and artistry of Rajasthan’s women artisans while integrating craft traditions into the guest journey.

Empowering artisans through identity and expression

The collaboration began with an International Women’s Day initiative centred on two powerful themes: ‘Pehchaan: Her Identity’ and ‘Aayna: Her Reflection.’ Women artisans from the villages of Aaspura and Dhanota participated in a week-long workshop designed to strengthen literacy, self-expression, and personal identity.

Under the Pehchaan programme, participants moved from using thumbprints to confidently writing and digitally signing their own names. The initiative marked an important step toward empowerment and independence for the artisans involved.

The journey culminated at the hotel with Aayna, an emotional moment of reflection. Standing before an ornate mirror, each artisan shared what she saw in the woman looking back. What began as shy smiles soon turned into expressions of pride, confidence, and resilience.

Guests witnessed the moment and offered flowers to the artisans in a symbolic gesture of appreciation. The experience transformed into a shared celebration of dignity, recognition, and personal strength.

Cultural experiences for guests

Going forward, the partnership will introduce immersive experiences that connect travellers with Rajasthan’s living craft heritage. These will include artisan workshops in weaving villages, storytelling evenings with master weavers and female artists, and curated exhibitions within the hotel.

These initiatives allow guests to understand the stories behind handmade rugs and appreciate the generations of skill that shape each design. At the same time, the programme provides wider visibility and sustainable livelihood opportunities for local artisans.

Leadership perspective

“True luxury today is about connection and conscience,” said Vimal Verma, General Manager of Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur. “Our association with Jaipur Rugs Foundation goes beyond collaboration. It is a commitment to stand beside Rajasthan’s women weavers, celebrate their identity and create meaningful experiences where our guests can engage directly with the stories and traditions that shape this region.”

“This partnership is a deeply proud moment for all of us,” said Nand Kishore Choudhary, Founder of Jaipur Rugs. “It creates a meaningful platform for our artisans to gain the exposure they deserve and showcase the powerful stories behind their work.”

Responsible luxury in focus

With this collaboration, Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur reinforces its commitment to responsible luxury hospitality. By bringing together tourism, craftsmanship, and community empowerment, the initiative positions the hotel as a cultural bridge between travellers and Rajasthan’s living heritage.
