Xiaomi 8A starts receiving MIUI 11 update in India

Xiaomi has a huge smartphone lineup to update to the latest MIUI 11. After adding Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A to the latest MIUI 11, Xiaomi is starting to roll out the update for Xiaomi Redmi 8A as well where it will also receive the latest security patch along with the update.

According to The Mobile India, the Redmi 8A will be getting MIUI 11.0.1.0PCPINXM via OTA update and will have a file size of 544MB. The update will bring the October security patch making the device resistant against a host of malware and viruses while inculcating a string of features with the latest MIUI 11 in store.

Apparently, the MIUI 11 has a minimalistic design for its Xiaomi smartphones and comes with a string of features such as dynamic sound effects mimicking water, fire, animal, etc. The latest update adds a few new features within Game Turbo allowing users to play games on Xiaomi Redmi 8A without worrying about the aftermath of playing graphics-intensive games.

As per its specs sheet is concerned, the device is a budget-category smartphone that packs in a 6.2-inch HD+ display with 1520×720 pixels resolution. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC clocked at a maximum 2.0 GHz octa-core and brings along 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device has a 12MP Sony IMX363 AI-enabled rear sensor flanked with an 8MP AI sensor at the front.

Even after being a budget-category device, it packs in a massive 5,000 mAh battery coupled with 18W fast charging capability. Xiaomi is currently rolling out MIUI 11 across a tonne of its smartphones spread across both Redmi and MI branding which includes Poco F1, Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi 7A, Redmi 8, Redmi Note 8, Redmi 6, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi Y2, Mi Mix 2, Mi Max 2, among others of which, many have already received the update as per the rollout phase that ends on December 26 with phase four after updating Redmi Note 8 Pro to the latest MIUI 11.
