Director Ali Abbas Zafar started 2021 in the happiest possible way. After quietly getting married recently, the filmmaker posted a wedding picture of himself and bride Alicia on Tuesday. The Sultan’s director captioned his Instagram message, “Mine for Life,” the caption of which referenced the story of Prophet Muhammad’s daughter Fatima and her husband Ali. “1400 years ago, Imam Ali told Fatimah Al-Zahra that all my fear and sorrow had vanished. I feel the same as Alicia Zafar when I look at your face,” Ali Abbas Zafar wrote in his post.

Ali Abbas Zafar shared an image of entwined hands a day ago, probably his and Alicia’s, simply writing, “Bismillah.” Alicia’s hand is adorned with bridal jewelry in the snapshot.
Actress Katrina Kaif as well as her sister Isabelle and actor Ranveer Singh, a close friend of the director and star of many movies he has made, congratulated the newlyweds.
Ali Abbas Zafar, who is a writer and producer as well as a director, is best known as Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai and, most recently, Bharat for helming blockbusters with Salman Khan in the lead. He made Gunday With Ranveer, Arjun and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles, he also directed Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, starring Katrina.

Khali Peeli, starring Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday, was the last film by Ali Abbas Zafar. For the upcoming web series Tandav, starring Dimple Kapadia and Saif Ali Khan, he is also the showrunner. Tandav’s trailer was released this week.
