Finally, Sony has announced its “Sony Xperia 1 II.” The phone actually sounds weird, but there are reports that it has been branded similarly to the Sony cameras. For example, “Sony A7 III” is pronounced “Sony Alpha seven mark three.” So the Sony Xperia 1 II” will be pronounced as “Sony Xperia One Mark Two.”
Similar to many other smartphones that will be unveiled this month, “Sony Xperia 1 II” is a flagship 2020 smartphone which will be equipped with Snapdragon 865 and will be 5G enabled. In this smartphone, Sony has used mid-band 5G and not mm-Wave, and not to forget that Sony Xperia 1 II” is the company’s first 5G enabled smartphone.
Talking about the specifications of the new flagship 2020 smartphone from Sony, the smartphone will be equipped with a 6.5-inch, 3840×1644 OLED display. The Snapdragon 865 processor in the smartphone will be bundled with 8GB of RAM. There are reports that the flagship model will have 256GB of storage, and it will have 4000mAh battery to provide a great backup.
Besides this, the IP68 rated smartphone will have a MicroSD slot and will support wireless charging. There are reports that “Sony Xperia 1 II” will be the only flagship smartphone in 2020 that will come along with a headphone jack.
The style is very square and looks pretty good, like any smartphone in Sony. Although the rest of the industry is about making the screen space maximized with the camera notches and other monitor flaws, Sony has two symmetrical bezels with stereo speakers that houses the front camera. With measurements of 166mm×72mm×7.9mm, this is one of the biggest Smartphones in the world with bezels and a 21:9 display.
To be more specific, you will find a volume rocker along with a camera shutter button on the left side of the smartphone, while a combo side-fingerprint reader and power button will be located on the right side.
